CSA Labels, CSA Marks and Symbols, CSA Approved Labels
The Canadian Standards Association (CSA) develops standards for enhancing public health and safety, advancing the quality of life, preserving the environment and facilitating trade. LGI produces CSA approved labels using official CSA marks and symbols and can incorporate CSA markings into regulatory labels on a variety of substrates and constructions.
FDA Labels, FDA Compliant Materials and Constructions
The FDA strictly regulates medical, pharmaceutical, cosmitic and food products ensuring public health and safety. LGI assists our customers in developing FDA compliant labels on FDA approved materials and constructions for specific applications.
WEEE Labels
The WEEE directive requires producers to clearly mark their products with the following three elements:

LGI uses only RoHS compliant materials, inks, adhesives and overlaminates in our all of our label constructions including our RoHS labels. We will gladly assess your current label stock and offer compliant alternatives where necessary.
While the RoHS directive does not require any specific RoHS label markings, it may be advantageous to indicate RoHS compliance, lead free or the lead free symbol on your product labeling. Contact us for assistance in the design of a label that will be appropriate for your products.

Lead Free Labels
JEPED95 in response to the RoHS directive has established a standard for marking of electronics assemblies, components and devices. These are listed below according to label type.
Pb-free category labels - e1, e2, e3, e4, e5, e6, e7 in a circle or ellipse for components, devices and assemblies. Whenever possible markings should be on the top surface and in the lower right hand corner of the board or assembly
Pb-free identification labels - Pb with crossed out circle with the words "Pb-free" beneath for intermediate boxes and containers
2nd level interconnect labels - Pb symbol, category symbol and maximum safe working temperature of components - to be adhered to lowest level shipping container (ESD or Dry pack)
The Ministry of Information Industry of the People's Republic of China (MII) has issued the Management Methods for Control of Pollution from Electronic Information Products (MMCPEIP) which requires marking of electronic equipment for sale or import into China. The China Electronic Standardization Institute (CESI) has devised standard markings for compliance with this law which must be in place by March 1, 2007.
The MII is producing a guideline for the Environmentally Friendly Use Period (EFUP) number often referred to as the Environmental Protection Use Period (EPUP) scheduled to be available prior to March 1, 2007.

Japan RoHS Labels
The Japanese Standards Association has release the Japanese Industrial Standard for the marking for presence of specific chemical substances for electrical and electronic equipment (JIS C 0950:2005) also known as Japan RoHS or J-MOSS.
This standard requires marking electronic equipment to be introduced into the Japanese market with one of two symbols:
The Green Mark - to be used If the product is within the tolerances of hazardous chemicals.
The Content Mark - to be used If any of the hazardous substances were used during the manufacturing of the electrical or electronic equipment. The symbol most include the chemicals which exceed maximum tolerances either on the label or within the product manual.
The legislation also includes instructions for marking of printed materials, catalogs and product URLS.
