Guidelines to help you design a successful
solution.
As a technology leader in engineered solutions, LGInternational’s
highly-trained staff has the expertise to translate even the most
complex requirements into design, construction and engineering specifications.
In order to determine the requirements of a project, a number of
questions will need to be addressed. Most of these questions will
be answered through:
- Completion of the Label
Checklist with your sales rep
- Submission
of a drawing or blueprint
More complex projects may require additional information gathering,
often in combination with an onsite visit, to properly address usage
and environmental concerns, such as:
- Extreme temperatures
- Water, humidity and UV exposure
- Caustic chemicals
- Cleanliness and sterility
- Dielectric properties
- Tamper resistance
Submission of Drawing
A key document for engineering and producing a labeling solution
is the drawing or blueprint. If you are unable to provide a print,
we will create one for your approval. It takes many steps to provide
a good product. A document that clearly spells out the final product
is critical.
A blueprint should contain the following at a minimum:
- Company name
- Part number
- Current revision level
- Materials and adhesives (if any) callouts
- Dimensions
- Colors
- Corner radius
- Any special instructions
- Special packaging requirements
- Tolerances
Color matching
We use a spectrophotometer to match color. Give us a sample of
the color you need and we'll match it. This way, you can custom
color match a background color, for example, to blend in with the
surface color to which the part is being attached. If you do not
need a color match, choosing one of our stock colors can be a cost
saver. Your account representative can provide samples of stock
colors.
Die cutting and tolerances
LGInternational’s ability to hold tight tolerances is indicative
of our refined processes and quality control. The precision LGI
delivers is not only expected but required for the nature of the
advanced labeling solutions we produce combined with the technical
markets we serve. Tighter or more specific tolerances may be defined
based on the requirements of each project. |
